Abstract
The DeSoto Consolidated School possesses a rich history which donor, and former student, Jim Riley is working to preserve. Originally located in Dallas County, Van Meter Township, the DeSoto Consolidated School opened in 1924 and served the children of DeSoto, Iowa, until its closure in 1961. The papers in this collection outline the development of the local Waterloo-Cedar Falls Berg Seminars. Included are a 20-page manuscript written in 1965 by Irving Herman, a founder of the local Berg group, and schedules of the Berg seminars from 1959 through 1968.

This collection arrived in a fairly organized state, with most folders already labeled, but not arranged in chronological order. Dr. Baskerville kept records of his academic life since the late 1980s, when he was studying at the University of Iowa.
