Biographical / Historical
Jessie Juhl (1900-1975) worked at Iowa State Teachers College for 33 years, serving as secretary to presidents Seerley, Latham, Price, and Maucker. She first started as a part-time secretary while still a student at ISTC. Also while a student, Juhl was president of the Omega chapter of the national educational sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, in 1934. Juhl additionally attended business college in Waterloo. Her duties as the president’s secretary included making appointments and taking phone calls, as well as preparing finance and budget materials, correspondence, and Board of Regents materials. Juhl retired in 1966 and passed away in June 1975.
