Gilchrist Family Library
Principal Gilchrist made his personal library available to early Normal School students. Some of the books in this collection quite likely were part of the collection that he shared. Some of the books were inscribed by Principal Gilchrist, his daughter Maude Gilchrist, and his son Fred C. Gilchrist.
Gilchrist Hall Cornerstone Contents
After a fire destroyed the original Gilchrist Hall on May 12, 1972, on the campus of the University of Northern Iowa, the cornerstone was recovered from the ruins. That cornerstone was opened on October 7, 1972, and the material noted below was discovered.

Golden Ledger collection
The Golden Ledger collection consists of a journal of the organization's meeting minutes. Inside the journal, there is an envelope addressed to Golden Ledger containing a card regarding the remembrance of Robert O. Skar.
Grace Alexandria Buresh Selzer Collection
This small collection consists of eight photographs taken on the Iowa State Teachers College campus (now the University of Northern Iowa) in 1918. They include campus landmarks and buildings as well as several photos of Grace Buresh Selzer.
Grace Myers Elliott Papers
The six diaries and a collection of photographs belonged to Grace Myers Elliott. The diaries span the 1930s-1960s, and the photographs of her family date from 1907-1939.

This "Klipto Register of Daily Attendance and Record of Achievement" records the names of students as well as their grades and courses of study at a small one room school. It includes attendance records, a list of school visitors, school improvements, special programs, and petty cash transactions.
