The six diaries and a collection of photographs belonged to Grace Myers Elliott. The diaries span the 1930s-1960s, and the photographs of her family date from 1907-1939.

Biographical / Historical

Grace Myers Elliot was born on June 18, 1883, daughter of William Myers (1837-1905) and Mary Myers (1844-1924). She had seven siblings, Edgar, Henry, Bertha, Willie, Arthur, Raymond, and Teressa. She married Chester O. Elliott (November 25, 1886-June 7, 1964) sometime prior to 1916. The couple had one son, Nathan (1916-1965), who married Edna Rauscher (1917-1994). The family lived in Lockridge, Iowa. Grace Myers Elliott died on June 15, 196. Grace, Chester, and Nathan Elliott are all buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
