The films were likely shot by university athletics staff, possibly as a means of preparing for upcoming games. They were recorded without audio and primarily in black and white. The UNI Gallery of Art records date from 2001 to 2023. These materials were created and collected by Darrell Taylor during his tenure as the director of the UNI Gallery of Art, a role he held from 2003 to 2023. The collection consists almost exclusively of gallery files compiled during this time period.
