Identifier: 13/01/02/03

Scope and Contents

This material was created primarily during the administration of Dean Thomas Switzer from 1987 through 2002, though there is good material from both before and after Dean Switzer's administration. The Archives received many additional increments of records in the following years. The collection includes files relating to accreditation, promotion and tenure, the Malcolm Price Laboratory School, and the administration and management of the College of Education. There is information about every significant matter treated by the College of Education from about 1980 through about 2003. There is also a large subject file that includes excellent documentation of the Orava Project, an extended initiative to restructure education in the Slovak Republic.

Arrangement

The current arrangement of these papers closely follows the rough subject arrangement in which the papers arrived in the Archives. But the organization is, at very best, loose and redundant. Information on many key topics is located in multiple places in the collection.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

In September 2007, the College of Education sent a large collection of material to the University Archives.
