Kappa Phi Upsilon collection

Scope and Contents

The Kappa Phi Upsilon collection consists of two scrapbooks dated 1939 to 1940, and 1943 to 1944, respectively. The scrapbooks contain materials such as reports, favors, pledge songs, newspaper clippings, programs, meeting minutes, and photographs.

Turkish Student Association collection

This collection consists of two items related to the Turkish Ashura Day celebration hosted by the UNI Turkish Student Association and the Iowa Dialog Center, held on February 2, 2008. The goal of the celebration was to "celebrate diversity and intercultural partnership in the state of Iowa by sharing Ashura (Noah's Pudding) and other traditional Turkish foods." Included are a brochure about the Iowa Dialog Center and a small sheet of paper with information about Noah's pudding.

This folder contains one sheet titled “Demands”, and letters and correspondences between Dr. William Lang, at the time the Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Charles Quirk, the chairman of the Committee on University Responsibility in Minority Group Education, regarding the demands made by the Afro-American Society. There are two copies of each of these sheets included in the folder, and each of the letters contains information regarding meetings.

Scope and Contents The Kappa Delta Pi collection dates from 1927 to 2013, with the majority of materials dating between the early 1980s to 2013. The bulk of the collection consists of photographs from KDP trips, conferences, activities, and more. Students United for Academics Collection

Scope and Contents This collection contains protest materials created by Students United for Academics. Two Styrofoam tombstones were created as symbols of budget cuts and used as props to headline a "funeral" for academic programs. This event was held on UNI's campus, primarily in Seerley Hall and next to the Campanile. There are also posters created and used by the student group.
