Biographical / Historical
The Ski Club was established at the University of Northern Iowa in 1974. In 1978, the group joined the National Collegiate Ski Association. The organization was open to all, both collegiate and non-collegiate, and strove to make skiing economical and accessible. Through their membership in the club, students were offered free lessons at Oak Highlands in Waverly, Iowa. Along with this, members were provided with opportunities for discounts on ski equipment at local shops as well as package deals on ski trips. Throughout its history, the group ventured on many ski trips and also showed films at its meetings. The organization is no longer active at UNI as of 2025.
