Biographical / Historical
The Athenian Society was dedicated to developing writing, speaking, and reading skills. This group hosted some social events, as well as tutoring and public meetings for students outside of the organization to get help with writing skills. In 1915, the group changed their name to the VI Period Provisional Society by becoming affiliated with a writing class on campus at the Iowa State Teachers School (now the University of Northern Iowa).
