Scope and Contents

This collection contains three items from Marjorie Cook’s time as a student: a copy of the 1935 Old Gold yearbook (includes some minor handwritten annotations); the May 1935 issue of the student publication The Purple Pen, which contains articles written by Cook; and a Sigma Tau Delta pin.

Biographical / Historical

Marjorie Cook was a 1935 graduate of the Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa), where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Physical Education for Women. She was involved in a variety of student organizations, including Delphian, the Physical Education Club, the Life Saving Corps, and Sigma Tau Delta.
