The collection consists of William Blake's three diplomas from Teacher's College High School (May 1956), State College of Iowa (1963), and the University of Northern Iowa (1969), along with his 1963 Purple and Old Gold award.

Biographical / Historical

William Blake attended the Iowa State Teacher's College High School (later Price Laboratory School), graduating in 1956. He then attended the State College of Iowa (now the University of Northern Iowa), whre he participated in tennis, Sigma Theta Epsilon, and the Speech Activities Club. Blake earned his bachelor's degree in middle school/high school education in 1963 and his master's degree, from the University of Northern Iowa (UNI), in geography in 1969. He taught at Waterloo's West High School, where he also was the girls tennis coach and the assistant wrestling coach. Blake additionally served as a Student Field Experience instructor at UNI.
