Scope and Contents

This collection consists of materials from Dorothy Hinson’s time at the Iowa State Teachers College. It contains: one sheet, with handwritten annotations, titled, “Primary Education Curriculum,” outlining different courses and general notes about the courses, dated May 1925; a Winifred Merril violin recital program, dated November 19; three term reports / credit sheets dated 1925-1926; and Dorothy’s ISTC diploma, dated March 12, 1929.

Biographical / Historical

Dorothy Hinson graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (now UNI) with a Primary Education degree in 1929. While at school, she was involved in the Homerian Society and the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA). She later taught for one year in Rowley, Iowa, and two years in Fairfield, Iowa.
