Scope and Contents
This collection consists primarily of ephemeral materials dated 1931-1932. Examples include programs for plays performed at ISTC, such as “Enchanted April” and “The Scarecrow”; programs from music performances by campus groups including the Aeolian Glee Club and the college symphony orchestra; a June 1932 booklet titled, “Student Life” featuring photos and descriptions of campus scenes; and the ISTC loyalty song printed on paper made of corn stalks, among other items.

Many items housed in the Rod Library Special Collections & University Archives, including unpublished images and manuscripts, may be protected by copyright, publication rights, trademarks, or model release rights which the library does not own and for which the library cannot grant permission or licensing. Biographical / Historical
Mildred Ethel Stelzmiller was a 1933 graduate of the Iowa State Teachers College (ISTC), where she earned her Normal Training Degree, with a primary school concentration. In 1932, she was a member of the First Year Primary Class and was a member of the Aeolian Glee Club. She then taught in Fayette County, Iowa schools for about seven years and the Fayette Consolidated School from 1936-1938 before marrying farmer Glen Lester Bennington.
