Biographical / Historical
The Center for Applied Research in Metal Casting opened in 1990 after receiving financial aid from the State of Iowa and the University of Northern Iowa, along with federal funding and additional contributions by local industries. In 1993, its name was changed to the UNI Metal Casting Center (MCC) to better encompass the Center’s work within the metal casting industry. The MCC has received funding from various agencies since its inception to aid its work. It is part of the Department of Technology (previously the Department of Industrial Technology).
