Elaine Bush Kalmar Papers
Scope and Contents
The papers were well-organized, so little needed to be done to prepare them for use. The current arrangement closely follows Professor Kalmar's original order. Most of this collection relates to AAUP matters at the state and national levels. But it has direct relevance to the University of Northern Iowa, because of Professor Kalmar's particular interest in collective bargaining. Professor Kalmar used information that she gathered at national meetings when she helped to prepare faculty positions at UNI collective bargaining sessions. Some files include Professor Kalmar's handwritten notes. Researchers who are interested in collective bargaining at UNI will find value in using this collection in conjunction with the papers of United Faculty.
