Robert Dean Talbott Papers
Scope and Contents
Robert Dean Talbott's papers are divided into two parts. The first and smaller part includes some of his professional writing as well as records relating to his work with the UNI Museum. The second part relates to his professional experience with Latin American studies. The UNI Museum files include correspondence, reports, policies, and minutes relating to Museum programs, services, collections, and accreditation. The Latin American files include conference proceedings, conference papers, UNI Latin American and Interamerican curricular and committee material. Talbott was a long-term and key participant in matters relating to Latin American studies at UNI. Prominent among Talbott's professional associations is the Midwest Association for Latin American Studies. He also donated minutes and other papers relating specifically to the Department of History which have been interfiled with existing Department of History series.

Biographical / Historical
Robert Dean Talbott joined the UNI faculty in 1967 as Assistant Professor of Latin American history. In 1970 he became an associate professor, and in 1974 he earned the rank of professor. He retired from UNI in 1996.
