George H. Holmes Papers
Scope and Contents
The George H. Holmes papers are the office files for the UNI Public Relations Office from about 1950 through about 1970. Included are University publications, correspondence with President Maucker, correspondence with publicity directors of other institutions, and memoranda from the Regents office. Subjects covered include publicity office policy, student publications, student cheating, student unrest, the proposed Western Iowa regents institution, Regents budgets, faculty salary, and Regents lobbying efforts. There is frequently information on more than one subject in each file. Holmes' filing system has been retained in almost all cases.
