Scope and Contents
This collection consists of two Alpha Upsilon Chapter yearbooks, dating from 1976-1977 and 1977-1978, respectively; issues of the “Alpha Bits” chapter news, c. 1980; 1 event flier; and a 1944 edition of the “Sigma Alpha Iota Song Book.”

Biographical / Historical
The Alpha Upsilon Chapter of the women’s international music fraternity Sigma Alpha Iota was established at the Iowa State Teachers College (now the University of Northern Iowa) on April 21, 1936, with an initial twenty members and four patronesses. Its goal was, and continues to be, promoting music on campus and throughout the community.
