Access Services / Circulation scrapbook, 1919-early 1980s, 1970s-early 1980s

 Collection — Box: 6-7
Identifier: 22/13/01

Scope and Contents

This scrapbook consists of various ephemeral materials compiled by the Rod Library Circulation (now Access Services) staff, largely from the 1970s to early 1980s. Included are examples of day-to-day unit operations, such as "book missing" cards and reading room slips with patron information, call numbers, and book information. Also included are notes from disgruntled patrons, especially students who owed fines for overdue books, along with notes taunting library staff about successfully taking a book without checking it out. The material is largely humorous in nature, such as a book being returned from Japan (its envelope is included in the scrapbook); notes about books that had been checked out years prior and were just being returned; and flowery notes written from patrons with overdue titles.
