Biographical / Historical

Crème de la Crème was a series of benefit music performances that showcased local talent, including University of Northern Iowa faculty. C. Hugh Pettersen founded the series in 2001.  Mr. Pettersen was a College Hill merchant and a strong supporter of the arts.  Researchers interested in Mr. Pettersen may wish to consult the files of the College Hill Arts Festival Records as well as the C. Hugh Petterson Papers, donated by Mr. Pettersen himself.  He and a longstanding, hard-working board presented an excellent series of annual performances for fifteen years.  After Mr. Pettersen's death in October 2014, the board decided that the series would come to an end in 2015.
