S. Elouise Walters Collection
Scope and Contents
The S. Elouise Walters Collection consists of notes, essays, and lesson plans. These records were compiled and utilized by Ms. Walters in the course of earning her High School Normal Training Certificate from New Hampton High School in Chickasaw County.

Biographical or Historical Information
S. Elouise Roberson (Walters) was born on November 11, 1916, in Ruthven, Iowa, which is located in Palo Alto County. Although the exact date is unclear from the collection, the Walters family relocated to New Hampton, Iowa (Chickasaw County) where S. Elouise would attend and graduate from New Hampton High School in 1934. On October 14, 1937, she married Harvey Roberson and lived on a farm near Jerico, Iowa, until her death on November 22, 2001. She was employed at J.C. Penney's and filled her time by painting and donating her time to various organizations including the Jerico Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, the County Liners Card Club, and 4-H.
