Conditions Governing Access
Restrictions apply (see below). Please contact university archivist Jaycie Vos at jaycie.vos@uni.edu with questions. ACLU of Iowa Archive Access Policy (July 25, 2012) The below policy specifies who shall have access to the archives of the ACLU of Iowa and through what procedures. UNI archive staff has access to all materials, however they are marked (confidential or otherwise), for purposes of properly identifying and archiving those materials. Any materials the ACLU of Iowa deem confidential will be marked as such on the outside of the box housing the materials, sent from the ACLU of Iowa to the UNI archives. Once the materials are processed by UNI staff, the archive box containing the materials also will be marked as confidential. Any ACLU of Iowa current, full-time employee shall have access to archive materials without written or prior permission. If anyone who is not UNI archives staff wants to review non-confidential materials, that person must obtain written permission from the executive director of the ACLU of Iowa. If the executive director is unavailable, the legal director can grant access. If anyone who is not UNI archives staff wants to review confidential materials, they must follow the above procedure, but also specify that they also want to review confidential materials so access can be granted / denied accordingly.
