Scope and Contents

This collection consists of the four letters Cramer received in response from the Iowa members of Congress. The Clark and Gross signatures appear to be genuine. All four letters state that the scandal is a matter of great concern, that the impeachment of the President is a serious undertaking, and that they are awaiting further developments in the matter.

Biographical / Historical

In October, 1973, William L. Cramer (b. 1955), a University of Northern Iowa student, wrote to Iowa Senators Dick Clark and Harold Hughes as well as to Representatives John Culver and H.R. Gross about President Richard Nixon and the Watergate scandal.
