Biographical / Historical

The Iowa State Teachers College (ISTC) served as a training base during World War II, with its facilities, faculty, and reduced wartime campus population used to make the campus an effective training area. Over the course of the war, 2,157 men and women from the Teachers College served in the military. Sixty-nine died while in service.
