Russell Campbell papers
Scope and Contents
The Russell Campbell papers, dating from 1986 to 2014, consist of materials related to the University of Northern Iowa Department of Mathematics and Campbell’s conference presentations. Topics represented include departmental seminars, Wright Hall, and mathematical research. The collection contains memos, conference papers, fliers, event information, departmental commencement reception programs, a poster for the Guttenberg (Iowa) German Fest, and aerial photographs and documents from the United States Department of the Interior.

Biographical / Historical
Russell Campbell received his bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from Brown University in 1974. He then completed his master’s degree and Ph.D. in Mathematics, both from Stanford University, in 1974 and 1976, respectively. Prior to coming to the University of Northern Iowa (UNI) in 1983, he taught at Purdue University from 1979 to 1983. Campbell is the author of numerous publications and presented at a variety of professional conferences over the course of his career. He retired from UNI in 2018.
