Scope and Contents
This collection consists of flyers and mailers advertising services offered and events sponsored by Wellness and Recreation Services (WRS), flyers, pamphlets, newsletters, brochures, annual and quarterly reports, meeting minutes, DVDs, videocassettes, and other information detailing the activities of WRS and its divisions such as the Wellness and Recreation Center, Counseling Center, and the Student Health Clinic.

Many items housed in the Rod Library Special Collections & University Archives, including unpublished images and manuscripts, may be protected by copyright, publication rights, trademarks, or model release rights which the library does not own and for which the library cannot grant permission or licensing. Researchers are advised that the disclosure of certain information pertaining to identifiable living individuals represented in this collection without the consent of those individuals may have legal ramifications (e.g., a cause of action under common law for invasion of privacy may arise if facts concerning an individual's private life are published that would be deemed highly offensive to a reasonable person) for which the University of Northern Iowa assumes no responsibility.
Biographical / Historical
Wellness and Recreation Services was the administrative unit at the University of Northern Iowa responsible for overseeing all aspects of student health services and recreational activities offered. This included the Student Health Clinic, the Counseling Center, and the Wellness and Recreation Center. Around 2015, this department was split into Recreation Services and Student Wellness Services, with he former overseeing the Wellness and Recreation Center and other recreational activities on campus, and the latter overseeing all public health functions for the student body at UNI.
