Biographical / Historical
The Office of the Vice President for Educational and Student Services was responsible for the University of Northern Iowa's student support activities, including Academic Advising Services, Admissions, Counseling, Placement, and Career Services, Financial Aids and Student Employment, Health Services, Maucker Union and Student Activities, the Center for Multicultural Education, the Registrar's Office, Residence, and Vocational Rehabilitation. In the 1970s and early 1980s, it was known simply as the Office of the Vice President for Student Services. Thomas Hansmeier served as the Vice President for Student Services from 1971-1984. Sue Follon took over the role in 1985 and served until her death in 1998. Follon was succeeded by Renee Romano in 1999.
